Hazlieburn holiday rental is a self contained, 2 bedroom flat comprising the Westerly wing of Hazlieburn House. Hazlieburn House was built in 1889 and is the main residence of the Hazlieburn estate. Hazlieburn flat was completely refurbished and redecorated in 2024. The flat itself consists of living/dining room, 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, kitchen and shower room. The flat has its own entrance which allows guests to come and go as they please. The flat has central heating with additional electric radiators in the bedrooms. The living room also has a wood burning stove for those cold winter evenings. There is wifi available throughout the flat and there is a smart TV in the living room if you fancy a movie night.
The kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge/freezer and a washing machine. The shower room has a WC and an electric shower.
There is an electric car charging point also available. We are pet friendly but remember the local wildlife if allowing your dog of its lead.
Hazlieburn is situated in a private setting just outside the village of West Linton. Surrounding the house are green fields with open countryside beyond. The house is very well situated for access to the Edinburgh City Bypass and the city centre. The bypass is less than 11.3 miles to the north and gives access to the south, east and west of the city, the airport and the motorway network. The city centre is less than 16 miles to the north.
The conservation village of West Linton (0.75 miles to the south) has a good range of local shops and services, including a pub, restaurant, cafe, post office, and tennis, golf and bowling clubs. Penicuik (7 miles) has a wider range of facilities, including shops, supermarkets, professional services. The recreational and cultural facilities of Edinburgh are also within easy reach. The Straiton retail park is just beyond Penicuik.
The recreational facilities in the immediate area are good. Hillend dry ski slope is off the A702 on the near side of the bypass. There are a number of local golf courses including Glencorse and West Linton, while all the links courses of East Lothian are also accessible. There is excellent and extensive walking and mountain biking in the Pentland Hills Regional Park from the doorstep of the property and from Flotterstone. Also on the doorstep is the old Roman road which gives pedestrian access into West Linton and the Pentland hills.
